Sylvestris
De tulp Sylvestris is vernoemd naar het Latijnse woord “silvestris,” wat “woud” of “bos” betekent. Deze naam verwijst naar de natuurlijke habitat van de tulp, die vaak in bosachtige of grassige gebieden voorkomt. Geel Tweekleurig sierlijk hangende knoppen. De bloemblaadjes ook wat groenig. Komt uit Zuid-Europa, en West Africa maar ook in Azië en NW Iran.
