De tulp New Design dankt zijn naam waarschijnlijk aan zijn vernieuwende en opvallende uiterlijk. Deze tulpensoort staat bekend om zijn zachte kleurencombinatie van lichtroze en crème Tweekleurig soms een vleugje geel, wat een verfijnde en moderne uitstraling geeft. Een vleugje Napels geel wat overloopt in een zacht roze Tweekleurig aan de buitenzijde een rand Fuchsia rood.
